About these 1st Birthday Cards
Almost nobody buying a first birthday card is buying it for the baby. It is bought by parents marking the year they survived, by grandparents who want their name on something, and by aunts and godparents who will end up in the photos. That is why these designs lean soft rather than cartoonish, and why so many of them get kept.
The foil is real foil, pressed by hand one sheet at a time in my studio in Mallow, which is why the gold moves in the light instead of sitting flat like printed ink. Cards are printed on heavyweight cardstock, blank inside for your own message, and arrive with a kraft or white envelope.
A first birthday card ends up in a memory box more often than any other card I make, so the A5 size is worth considering if you want it to feel like a keepsake rather than a card. If you want something for the wall instead, the personalised baby prints do that job. For the cake there are birthday cupcake toppers, and next year there are 2nd birthday cards.

1st Birthday Cards questions, answered
What size are the cards, and what do they cost?
Most designs come in two sizes. A6 at 10.5 by 14.8 cm, from 3.99 euro, and A5 at 14.8 by 21 cm, from 4.50 euro. A few designs are A6 only. The sizes and prices available are shown on each product page.
Can I add a name?
On personalised designs, yes. Type the name into the box on the product page and it is printed on the card. Premade designs are printed exactly as shown, with no name.
Is anything printed inside?
No. The inside is left blank so you can write your own message. Any personalisation is printed on the front of the card.
Does it come with an envelope?
Yes. Every card is sent with an envelope included in the price, kraft or white depending on the design.
Are the cards foiled or printed?
Both. Most designs are printed on 300gsm card with a smooth matte finish, and some are finished with real foil pressed by hand. A few are scratch-off. The finish is stated on each product page.
What if I spot a mistake in the details?
Message me straight away. If it has not gone to print yet I will fix it at no cost. Once it is printed and dispatched, a replacement is a paid reprint.
How long before it arrives?
Made to order and dispatched within 2 to 4 working days, then standard An Post delivery within Ireland.
