About these Christmas Cards
Christmas cards are the only ones bought in bulk and written in one sitting, usually at the kitchen table in late November with a list and a cup of tea going cold. What is here is the opposite of the box of forty from the supermarket: cards with a name printed into the artwork, so the one going to a grandson or a first-time granny is clearly theirs and not a spare off the pile.
The range splits three ways. Named designs cover a first Christmas for a new baby, grandsons, granddaughters and family cards, drawn as penguins, gingerbread, pandas and bunnies rather than robins and snow scenes. The scratch reveal cards hide a message or a surprise under a panel that has to be scratched off, which is what people reach for when the present is a trip rather than an object. And the Nollaig Shona designs run as Gaeilge, several with red foil, for the families who want the card to sound like home.
Cards are A5, A6 or DL on heavyweight cardstock, blank inside, with a kraft or white envelope, from €3.90. Printed and packed by hand in Mallow, County Cork, dispatched in 2 to 4 working days by An Post, so order early in December for anything going abroad. Christmas Cards questions, answered
What size are the cards, and what do they cost?
Most designs come in two sizes. A6 at 10.5 by 14.8 cm, from 3.99 euro, and A5 at 14.8 by 21 cm, from 4.50 euro. A few designs are A6 only. The sizes and prices available are shown on each product page.
Can I add a name?
On personalised designs, yes. Type the name into the box on the product page and it is printed on the card. Premade designs are printed exactly as shown, with no name.
Is anything printed inside?
No. The inside is left blank so you can write your own message. Any personalisation is printed on the front of the card.
Does it come with an envelope?
Yes. Every card is sent with an envelope included in the price, kraft or white depending on the design.
Are the cards foiled or printed?
Both. Most designs are printed on 300gsm card with a smooth matte finish, and some are finished with real foil pressed by hand. A few are scratch-off. The finish is stated on each product page.
What if I spot a mistake in the details?
Message me straight away. If it has not gone to print yet I will fix it at no cost. Once it is printed and dispatched, a replacement is a paid reprint.
How long before it arrives?
Made to order and dispatched within 2 to 4 working days, then standard An Post delivery within Ireland.
