About these Irish Cards
Lá Breithe Shona Duit, Nollaig Shona and Comhghairdeas, set properly with the fadas in the right places, which is the part that goes wrong nearly everywhere else. A good number of these are posted abroad, because sending a card as Gaeilge to someone in London or Boston does something an English card cannot. The rest are bought by Gaelscoil families and by people who want the card to sound like home.
Names are set with Irish spellings on request, so Seán gets his fada and Caoimhe is not quietly respelled to fit a template.
Printed on heavyweight cardstock in my studio in Mallow, County Cork, blank inside, with a kraft or white envelope. Real foil is pressed by hand with heat rather than printed as metallic ink. Dispatch is 2 to 4 working days by An Post, and longer again if the card is going overseas. See also Gaeilge prints, Irish prints and Christmas cards.
Your questions, answered
Everything you need to know before you personalise a card.
How does personalising work?
On the product page there's a box for the name, age or wording you want. Some designs add that text into the printed design itself, others leave the inside blank for you to write by hand. Each product page says which one it is.
Can I see a proof before it's printed?
For a straightforward name and date, I print without a separate proof. If your wording is longer or unusual, message me first and I'll confirm it before it goes to print.
What if I spot a typo after I've ordered?
Message me as soon as you can. If it hasn't gone to print yet I can fix it for free. Once it's printed and dispatched, a replacement is a paid reprint.
What foil colours do you offer?
Gold, silver, rose gold and holographic, plus gold holographic on some designs, I have over 30 foil color to choose from. Each product page shows which colours are available for that card.
Which size should I pick?
A6 is the standard card size and A5 is roughly double, better when the design carries a lot of wording or you want it to feel like a keepsake.
How long before it arrives?
- Made to order and dispatched within 2-4 working days, then standard An Post delivery within Ireland.
